It was with great sadness that I heard of the Duke’s passing. It would seem he gave the whole of his adult life to the service of thi country and the support of her Majesty, the Queen. I only ever saw him the once from across the Thames driving his coach in Windsor Great Park. My party and I were all thrilled. I think this would have been typical of the pleasure and uplift he gave to all he encountered however distantly. I wish her Majesty and the Royal family my deepest sympathy.
