Book of condolence for Councillor Pat Karney

Manchester is deeply saddened by the death of Councillor Pat Karney, who served the city and the people of Harpurhey for almost 50 years.

Pat was a passionate champion for Manchester, its communities and its people. He played an important role in the city’s regeneration, was a driving force behind events such as Manchester Day and the Christmas Markets, and dedicated his life to public service.

Our thoughts are with Pat’s family, friends, colleagues and all those whose lives he touched through his decades of service to Manchester.
