Words fail/are not adequate at times like these. The senseless killing of people going about their daily business simply defies all logic and makes one feel sick at the utter waste of lives.

My thoughts are with the friends & families of the two people killed. They sound like lovely people who deserved much longer on this earth. I hope the bereaved will get support and help to recover from this terrible loss.

Katherine Kiernan

Sincere condolences to family, friends & community of those horribly murdered yesterday.

So very, very sorry to hear the tragic news yesterday from Manchester.

Only last week, my sister Mhairi MacLean and I visited the Jewish Heritage Centre at Garnethill Synagogue in Glasgow and the staff and volunteers were so kind and helpful. For this attack to have happened on Yom Kippur makes it all the more horrific.

We send our sincere sympathy to all at Heaton Park Hebrew Congregation Synagogue.

Also, we send this message to all Jewish people: “We are with you – always”.

Yom Kippur is a day of introspection and consideration of our own culpability in a lack of consideration of others. Actions such as the horror yesterday destroy the very fabric of society
